Four-Week Workshop: Sacred Writing Our next free four-week workshop — "Sacred Writing" — starts Sunday, May 31, 2009 and will be led by Laura Bontrager. Laura's work has recently appeared in Arsenic Lobster, Barnwood Poetry Magazine, Ghoti Magazine, and HazMat Review. About the workshop: The Christian New Testament declares: “In the beginning was the Word.” The Buddhist's Diamond Sutra begins: “Thus have I heard.” Across the religious spectrum, sacred writings wrestle with the primitive and formative questions of man, such as: Who am I? Why am I here? Is there anything else out there? What happens when I die? Each prompt will look at a genre of sacred writing and sample religious texts, as well as more modern poems which approach those questions with spiritual language. This class is limited to 12 members on a first-come, first-serve basis. Click on Usergroups, and follow the prompts, to join. Moderator lily.bart |
